I honestly never thought I would be much a photographer. I took pictures, but I wasn't really concerned with the way that it turned out. This class has really opened up my eyes to how beautiful pictures can turn out if you pay attention to the small details. I feel like I have become a lot more creative with my choices. My favorite shooting assignment was B&W or Black and White. Not because of the pictures themselves, but because the photos represent what I love. I've always been an "older generation" kind of girl and with B&W, it has really helped me to bring that out. I just feel like B&W shows the whole story of something with such a simple picture. Photoshop has actually been a real struggle for me in this class. I've never messed with it before and it was pretty hard for me. It's gotten better, but it still needs a lot of work. The first time I had to go take pictures, I had no idea of what to do. At first I thought I was a fairly creative, but the photos gave me a run for that! I tried to get some ideas from my friends, but it didn't seem to be working. Things didn't really start to click until the first time I brought a camera home. My backyard is the woods so I had so many different beautiful angles to work with. It was so calming and nice as well. My brother, Ethan, used to be in DP as well. He has been an extraordinary help from the very beginning and I appreciate everything he has helped me with. I definitely know I would have struggled so much worse without him. My parents were a huge help too because they gave me all these creative ideas for my photos; from weird to just plain hilarious! Overall, I'm really thankful for all the new knowledge I have for taking pictures and how much more creative I got. I'm really thankful for my brother and all the fun times I had with taking photos; even if it was quite a struggle. I think I have become quite a better photographer and I had a blast experiencing it all. I hope you enjoyed my blog as much as I have. These pictures represent the Photoshop assignment of Visual Puns. I actually had a bit of help with this assignment and I struggled to come up with some puns as well. Overall, it was actually really fun and I would do it again in a heartbeat.
For this assignment, I had to take a couple pictures of someone. I chose to do my mom because she's always so supportive of me and she was willing to let me take some pictures. I did take a while because she wanted everything to be just right. With some of her ideas and some of mine, I think we did a fantastic job in capturing how beautiful she is.
For this assignment, I went with Macro. Basically, I tried to get as close as I could with an object, with it still being clear, and take a picture. I think I did fairly well with it, although I would like to make the main subject a bit more obvious. I chose to do Macro because I didn't really want to try People yet and I liked the challenge of it. I had to figure out my camera a bit more, but I think that I got it pretty ok.
Shutter Speed: Aperture: ISO: The first two photos represent the Polaroid assignment. I did a picture of a couple with a baby and the second one is a picture of the woods. I got to know Photoshop a bit better with this assignment and it has been really fun to do. The second two photos represent the Dash of Color assignment. With this one, I did a baby puppy and then a pumpkin to celebrate the Halloween season. This tutorial was surprisingly easy for me and I really hope I can do more in the future.
This is my friend, Christina. I tried to do the People choice, and it came out a bit blurry, but it was also my first time trying this so I really didn't go into it expecting much. I have to admit that it was fun to take pictures of People as I was able to make some memories by it.
Aperture: Shutter Speed: ISO: For this assignment, I decided to experiment with Black and White. It's not great, but I will try to get better at it in the future.
For this assignment, we had to take a picture of something, or use a picture we already had. I chose to use a picture I already had because it seemed like the easiest way to get the assignment done. I found three photos from the web to put in. These photos are a gorilla face, an alien face, and a small explosion. I had a little help completing this picture, but I really had a good time working on it.
This was my first architectural picture and I'm not entirely happy with it, but I'm learning and I can't wait to start using this in the future!
